The Regional Livestock Development Center (RLDC), Zhemgang organised three days training on TADinfo (Transboundary Animal Disease Information System) usage from 15 -17 January 2015 at RLDC conference hall. The participants comprised of field veterinarians, laboratory technicians and TADinfo focal persons from Dzongkhags and central programs of the East-Central region viz. Bumthang, Trongsa, Zhemgang and Sarpang, through technical support from NCAH Serbithang.
With the mandates of efficient data entry for notifiable disease outbreaks, the TADinfo system has been of immense utility. However, focal persons have not availed appropriate training on the usage and interpretation of existing TADinfo system for some period of time, while some of the competent personnel in database were transferred to other Dzongkhags, creating vacuum. On the other hand, there have been lots of miscommunication and duplication, which needed clear discussion and finalization. Understanding this, the training was conducted solely to solve the aforementioned issues. The training also gained added attention through involvement of DLOs and central programs in aligning the relevant issues for further coordination.
The training upon completion earned lots of appreciation from the participants for being appropriate and genuine, with recommendations for similar trainings on relevant developmental needs at regional level, for which RLDC Zhemgang commits to provide through resource and financial support from Department of Livestock, National Center for Animal Health and other relevant agencies.
The management of RLDC Zhemgang shares extreme gratitude to Hon’ble Director, Department of Livestock, and Program Director, NCAH Serbithang for the support, and looks forward for continued guidance and support hereafter.
