A three days training on ELISA Techniques for Diagnosis and Control of Avian Influenza A(H7N9) is being currently conducted in RLDC, Wangdue from 17 to 19 November 2014 for the field veterinarians and laboratory technicians in the country.
The training is mainly conducted with the objectives to update and upgrade the knowledge and skills of the laboratory/field staffs on the diagnostic techniques for detection and control of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus and to upgrade and strengthen the diagnostic capacities of the regional laboratories for avian influenza A(H7N9) through direct technology transfer.
Following this training program, the Department of Livestock expects to have advanced diagnostic techniques like ELISA available for avian influenza A(H7N9) in RLDC, Wangdue and also gradually proliferate the technique in other regional laboratories in future.
The training is organized by the National Centre for Animal Health in Serbithang under the Department of Livestock with financial support from the FAO and it is being attended by 30 staffs under the Department of Livestock.
