The officials from Deparment of Agriculture (DoA), Department of Forest and Park Services (DoFPS), Department of Livestock (DoL), Department of Agriculture Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Gross National Happiness Commission Secretariat (GNHCS), Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA), National Biodiversity Center (NBC), Information and Communication Services (ICS) and Policy and Planning Division (PPD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest attended the three days RNR CCAP  write shop for the development of Climate SMART indictors organized by RNR CCAP Program Coordination Unit of CORRB in Paro.

    25 April, Thimphu: Mr. David Billing from EU who is in the country for its first annual review and mid-term evaluation mission for RNR-Climate Change Adaptation Program (CCAP) presented his findings in a meeting held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Dasho Sherub Gyaltshen, the Hon’ble Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests. Also present were the departmental and agencies heads along with the focal persons.

    26 November, Thimphu: A one day planning workshop was organised at the Rochog Pel Hotel to discuss the Climate Change Information System (CCIS) for the RNR sector. CCIS is one of the key activities under the Global Climate Change Alliance, a project to enhance resilience of Bhutan’s rural households to the effects of climate change.

    Warsaw, Poland, 20th November, 2013: Addressing the Plenary of the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework on Climate Change in Warsaw, Poland, Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Forests and Vice Chair of the National Environment Commission, urged the international community to demonstrate greater global solidarity to tackle the threat of climate change. “Our collective efforts must intensify if we are to avoid dangerous climate change for the most vulnerable, from the lowest lying islands and coastal areas to the high and fragile mountains.”

  • Stakeholders agrees on GCCA climate change adaptation activities

    Mongar, 9-12 September: Around thirty eight participants from DoA, DoL, DoFPS, DAMC, CoRRB, NBC, BAFRA, PPD and ICS under the Ministry  along with the RNR-sector heads and planning officers of Mongar, Lhuentse, Pemagatshel and Zhemgang identified various climate change adaptation activities to be implemented under the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) project. This was done during a participatory planning workshop held at Wangchuk Hotel.
