11- 16 February, Chukha: A six days refresher training course and workshop on bacteriological tests (bacterial load count and antibiotic sensitivity test) for the veterinary laboratory technicians in the western region is being conducted at Thromde Veterinary Hospital and Satellite Laboratory (TVH & SL), Phuentsholing.
Given the increasing livestock products such as milk and meat samples being referred to veterinary laboratories for microbial load count and antimicrobial sensitivity test, the objective of the program is to equip veterinary laboratory technicians with the skill set to meet the demand. The program is organised by Regional Livestock Development Centre (RLDC), Tsimasham, Department of Livestock, with technical support from National Centre for Animal Health. The refresher training course and workshop is attended by veterinary laboratory technicians from RLDC Tsimasham, Thromde Veterinary Hospital and satellite laboratory, National Veterinary Hospital, and Dzongkhag Veterinary Laboratories under the western region.
While the participants from Dzongkhag Veterinary Laboratories will gain knowledge on the bacterial diagnostic techniques, other participants shall be able to enhance their knowledge and perform these tests in their respective laboratories.
