    This Standard Bidding Document for the Procurement of Goods have been prepared by the Ministry of Finance to be used for the Procurement of Goods through National and International Competitive Bidding in projects that are financed in whole or in part by the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB). It should be used in conjunction with the Procurement Rules and Regulations 2009. This document will come into effect from 1st April, 2009.

    9 July 2015, Trashigang & Trashiyangtse: Dasho Drangpon of Trashigang inaugurated the Farm Shop at Rangjung under Shongphu geog in Trashigang on 9 July, 2015. The other dignitaries present during the opening ceremony were the Gups of the eight gewogs, Staff from Shongphu Gewog Administration, and representatives from Dzongkhag, Regional Heads, Regional Manager, FCBL and RNR Officials of Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration.

  • Inauguration of new farmers dairy group in Paro

    DSC017699 July, Paro: A new farmer’s dairy group called as “Damchena Phuensum Omgi Detsuen” is being inaugurated at Dopshari geog. The Chief Guest of the occasion, Dasho Dzongrab highlighted on the importance of cooperation among the group members and stressed on the need to work as a team to address community problems and conflicts. According to the Dzongkhag Livestock Officer, the 60 households of Damchena mostly depend on livestock farming as their main source of income. Therefore, the group is being formed to assist the farmers of Damchena to enhance dairy milk production and establish proper formal marketing channel for their fresh milk. The fresh milk will be sold to the customers through Youth Business Cooperative’s farm outlets in Thimphu.

    The formation of the group is being supported by National Dairy Development Centre and Regional Livestock Development Centre, Department of Livestock.

  • Visit of AVRDC Delegates

    Untitled28 June – 4 July, 2015: The four member delegates of Asian Vegetable Research Development Center (AVRDC) visited Bhutan led by Dr. Ray Yu Yang, a Nutritionist. The main purpose of their visit was to conduct Mid-Term Review through school visit and conduct PRA and RRA.

    During their visit, they met with Sanam Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji followed by Hon’ble Secretary, MoAF and Director General of CoRRB. They also participated in one day Consultative Meeting with Policy makers and Country Team Members at RNR-RDC, Bajo on 2nd July, 2015. The main objective of day long Meeting was to present the progress and discuss the constraints while implementing the VeGoTs Project in Bhutan. The delegates presented their preliminary findings and interacted with the implementing partners.

  • Climate change adaptation training workshop in Wangchuck Centennial National Park

    Untitled6-10 July, Bumthang: The management of Wangchuck Centennial National Park (WCNP) is conducting five days climate adaptation training course for 36 participants. The participants include, park staff, health officials, local community leaders, school teachers and extension supervisors residing within the park. The training program is with response to the climate change vulnerability assessment conducted in 2012 with WWF Bhutan and the priority of the park conservation management plan which indicated the need of building local capacity to adapt to changing climate in the park.

    During the five days training workshop, the participants will learn how a changing climate affects conservation and development goals now and in the future. The concepts of climate variability, vulnerability, impacts, adaptation, how adaptation differs from current work and what it has in common will also be discussed. It will make participants aware of the importance of integrating people, species, and ecosystems into our work and be familiar with vulnerability assessment in climate adaptation and mitigation work at appropriate scales and timeframes.
