    The Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) would like invite all interested national and international scientists and practitioners to submit their manuscripts (PDF only) to bhutanecological@gmail.com, for consideration for publication in the inaugural issue of Proceedings of BES. Submissions are due by 5 PM on 28 April 2014.

  • Annual Rhododendron Festival: 18-20 April 2014- Royal Botanical Park, Lampelri

    The communities of Chang, Kawang and Dagala gewog under Thimphu and Toeb gewog under Punakha will be showcasing the 2nd Annual Rhododendron festival from 18-20 April 2014 at the Royal Botanical Park, Lampelri. The festival is organised with support from Nature Recreation and Ecotourism Division (NRED) under the Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPs), the Tourism Council of Bhutan and World Wildlife Fund-Bhutan.

    During the festival, several interesting programs on environment, cultural and food and beverages theme will be showcased. Therefore, you are encouraged to attend and enjoy this exciting event. While you plan to attend the festival, kindly follow the road blocks timing to avoid inconveniences on the way.

    6 April 2014, Trashi Yangtse: The 11.4 kilometer Buyang Irrigation channel under Khamdang Gewog in Trashi Yangtse dzongkhag was re-inaugurated by Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji on 6 April, 2014. The irrigation channel had been previously initiated and commissioned by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck in 1974 as a model project in eastern Bhutan to make people agriculturally self sufficient and self reliant, underwent major renovations in 2012. The construction of the historic irrigation channel was one of the largest kinds of project in eastern Bhutan.

  • Notice Inviting Quotation: Hiring of a Toyota Hilux for Phuntshothang Agriculture Rehabilitation, Bangtar

    Terms and Condition for hire of Vehicle: Sealed tenders are invited for hire of one Toyota Hilux for Phuntshothang Agriculture Rehabilitation Project (PARP) for a duration of four months. The vehicle will be used mainly to commute between the project site at Mindrupling, Phuntshothang gewog under Samdrupchholing Dungkhag (Bangtar), Paro and Thimphu.

    The tender shall be submitted along with an earnest money of Nu. 10,000.00 (ten thousand only), in the form of Demand draft or Cash warrant in favour of Dy. Chief Procurement Officer, AFD, MoAF, Thimphu. Tenders not accompanied by earnest money shall be rejected. Earnest money of unsuccessful bids shall be returned on finalisation of tender and awarding the contract. The earnest money of the successful bidder will be retained as security deposit till completion of the contract period. The rate quoted shall remain unchanged for the whole period.
