    Staff from National Centre for Animal Healh had conducted hands-on training for laboratory staff of Regional Livestock Development Centre, Kanglung on diagnosis of Highly Pathogenic Avain Influenza using real time (r) reverse transcription(RT) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and diagnosis of Foot-and-Mouth disease serum antibody using ELISA.

  • Competency course for the sale of pre-determined lists of veterinary medicines starts

    Lobeysa, 20 June: A three-week long competency course for the sale of pre-determined lists of veterinary medicines has started at the College of Natural Resources (CNR). Around 15 participants including ex-animal health workers and Class X pass candidates are attending it. They were nominated by the feed sale agents and farmer’s co-operatives and also the individuals interested to sale veterinary medicines.

    The course is aimed to promote Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) through private sector development by sale of veterinary products/medicines by feed agents and to overcome the drug shortages while also creating employment opportunities.

  • BAFRA Laboratory Officials Receive Training on ISO/IEC 17025 Standards

    A week long refreshers’ training course on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 standard for competence of the testing and calibration  laboratories has been conducted from 11th – 17th June 2013 for the laboratory officials of National Food Testing Laboratory (NFTL), BAFRA, Yusipang. Dr. G. M Tewari, UNIDO International Laboratory Expert was the resource person through support from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Project on Standards, Metrology, Testing and Quality (SMTQ). The main objectives of such trainings are to sustain and upgrade the accredited scope of NFTL.
