    April 15, Thimphu: A bird flu outbreak has been reported at the Thimphu City camp in Motithang which has killed 16 poultry birds belonging to three households. The first poultry death was reported by one of the owners on 3 April following which a team from the National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH) visited the site for investigation.

    The National Dog Population Management and Rabies Control Project (NDPM & RCP) under the National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH) received the ‘Outstanding Animal Protection Award’ during the Annual Animal Care Expo held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA from March 29 to April 2. Dr. Andrew Rowan, the CEO and President of the Humane Society International (HSI) presented the award.

  • Dorokha Sonam Gongphel Tsogpa launched Micro-Food Processing Unit

    UntitledApril 10, Samtse: A Micro-food processing Unit (MFPU) for Dorokha Sonam Ghongphel Tshokpa was launched at Dophuchen geog with fund support from the Remote Rural Community Development Project (RRCDP). It was a momentous occasion as 2015 commemorates 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty  The Fourth King of Bhutan.

    The Tshokpa is established in one of the biggest chiwogs, Drangreyboo-Ngagang chiwog under Dophuchen, consisting of six villages namely Dorokha A, Dorokha B, Dorokha C, Namchu, Damphuchen and Chilumchen villages. There are 89 standing members with a total population of 940 heads in these villages.
