    The following are the prize winning essays from the essay competition held at Tashidingkha MSS in commemoration of Social Forestry Day 2014:

    We are not new to the fact that trees, humans and other organisms must coexist in harmony. Trees are the basic source of life. Forget the world; let us talk about our country. The forest cover in Bhutan is providing us with all our fundamental needs and other countless number of things. Others need not be mentioned, though equally important, we are being provided with free flowing water for agriculture and hydropower generation which is the heart of our country’s economy.

  • Basic GPS Training ongoing at UWICE

    The trainees are from Lunana, Lingzhi, Soe, Sephu, Bumdeling and Khoma Geogs

    9-12 June 2014, Lamaigonpa, Bumthang: The National Centre of Animal Nutrition, Department of Livestock, Bumthang in collaboration with the Ugyen Wangchuk Institute for Conservation and Environment is the organiser of the 4 days training from 9/6/2014 to 12/6/2014 on “Basic Global Positioning System (GPS)”at Lamaigonpa, Bumthang. The training is being attended by 15 Livestock Extension Officers from Lunana, Lingzhi, Soe, Sephu, Bumdeling and Khoma Geogs.The training is funded by the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environment Conservation under the HANAs Project.

  • DAMC website ranked 11th

    In the website competition one of our sister websites was not too far behind us. Department of Agricultural Marketing & Cooperatives’s website www.agrimarket.gov.bt was ranked 11th out of 98 Government websites evaluated. Department of IT & Telecom (DITT) carried out the government website evaluation following a directive received from the Hon’ble Prime Minister to organise a website competition. The primary purpose was to assess whether websites established by several agencies under Royal Government of Bhutan are fulfilling the generic objectives and agency specific aims, assessment of websites was initiated in mid April. The Ministry’s website www.moaf.gov.bt had come 3rd.
