30 September, 2014, Sarpang: As part of its initiatives towards conservation of pristine aquatic bio-diversity the National Centre for Aquaculture (NCA), Bhutan’s nucleus centre for development of Aquaculture in Bhutan, under the guidance of the Department of Livestock (DoL) has released 3527 numbers of Golden Mahaseer fingerlings few miles upstream of Rongchhu River at Tsachu under Sarpang Dzongkhag. This is the 2nd batch of Golden Mahaseer fingerlings.
The Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector, Paro has a DCM full of local Chilly (contribution from public for Kurim at Paro and surplus) for sale at the rate of Nu 20/kg. The money collected from the sale will be used for Kurim.

Rome, Italy, 14 October, 2014: The 41st Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS41) organized by FAO, IFAD and WFP is currently underway at FAO, HQ in Rome, Italy. The Bhutanese delegation to CFS41 is led by the Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo. The CFS was established in 1974 as an intergovernmental body to serve as a forum in the United Nations System for review and follow-up of policies concerning world food security including production access to food.
The objectives of the CFS41 are to coordinate a global approach to food security and to discuss/review the State of Food Insecurity in the World 2014 (SOFI), promote policy convergence by providing guidance around key food security and nutrition issues, strengthen linkages and encourage a two way dialogue between CFS and other food security and nutrition stakeholders at the global & regional levels and update on best practices and lessons learned when implementing food security and nutrition polices at country level
