Recognizing the importance of Sustainable Forest Management through the scientific operation of Forest Management Units (FMU), 21 Unit in-charges of FMUs in the country are currently being provided hands-on training on Operation Planning by Forest Resources Management Division (FRMD) at Hotel Kingaling in Lobeysa, Punakha.
During a week-long training which started on March 1, the managers are being trained on critical components of Operation Planning (OP) such as OP plan writing and designing an Operation Inventory. The operation of FMU is monitored through physical verification of what is reflected in the Operation Plan. In addition, OP also details out the planned activities to be implemented in FMU in the succeeding year. For that, it is deemed very important that FMU in-charges are thoroughly trained.
