The Agriculture Machinery Centre is imparting one month training on maintenance and operation of power tiller for geog power tiller operators simultaneously in Paro and Khangma offices from September 4, 2017. There are 25 and 17 trainees attending the training in these two offices respectively in this batch.
The trainees’ nomination had been received through the Farm Machinery Corporation Limited as trainees shall be employed upon the completion of the training by the latter as geog operators to operate the power tillers distributed in the geog to increase the farm mechanization operation through hiring services. Already in this financial year, two trainings had been completed. The first was the mechanic training on over hauling of diesel engine, module I for technical staff of FMCL. The second was the in-service refresher course on Tractor operation. The farm mechanization training activities is the third mandate of the office with farm machinery technology generation and ensuring safe and quality machines through standards adoption through Bhutan Standard Bureau and testing are the other two mandates for the centre.

Department of Agriculture with financial support from UNDP is organizing 12th FYP Consultation Workshop at Tashi Namgay Grand, Phuentsholing. The three days workshop from 3rd to 6th September, 2017 is been extended by a day for better consultation and target finalization. All the Programs Director from RDC’s and Central Agencies, Commodities coordinators and Specialist along with 20 DAO’s and Division Chiefs are attending the workshop which is being chaired by Hon’ble Director, DoA. The workshop is also being attended by CEO, FMCL and General Manager, FSD, BAIL.Apart from the finalization of targets and baselines for the 12th FYP the Department of Agriculture also signed Agency level APA with all the Program Directors/ Specialist Heads RDCs and Central Program. Some of the central programs were represented by senior officials.
