Mr. Wangdi from Merak, Trashigang, is an agent who operates the Highland Product Outlet in the Centenary Farmers Market (CFM) in Thimphu. He delivers Merak Yak products to Paro, Punakha and Wangdiphodrang Dzongkhags. When the nationwide lockdown was announced, he was on a marketing trip in Paro and was stranded in Woochu, Paro.
Triggered by his post on Facebook, the MoAF team contacted him and assisted in selling his products which were stored at his residence at Langjophakha and at the CFM. The MoAF team facilitated sale of 90 Kgs of Dry Yak meat, 11 kgs of fermented cheese (Zoetoe) and 11 Kgs of Yak butter to zone shops in Langjophakha, Jungshina, Zilukha, Motithang, Olakha and and Rama in Thimphu. The remaining products will be delivered to the shops from tomorrow onwards depending on the demand. All covid19 protocols were followed strictly during the transfer and sale of his products.
