• Bhutan hosts the first International Mahseer conference

    The conference participants includes from five continents of USA, South America, Australia, Europe and Asia

    3-7 December, Paro: Mahseer is a critically endangered species of fish in the Himalayan region which is often referred as the ‘tiger’ of the water. With its species under increasing pressure across southern Asia, the experts have come together to discuss their growing threats and the most effective strategies for their long-term survival at the first International Mahseer Conference.

  • Sanam Lyonpo visits RNR sites under Mewang Gewog

    3 December 2018, Thimphu: On November 30, the Hon’ble MoAF Minister, Lyonpo Yeshey Penjor visited the RNR sites under Mewang Gewog in Thimphu dzongkhag, accompanied by the Director of Directorate Services and the heads and representatives from the various departments and non-departments. The visit started from the Nyezerkha Nursery Centre under Department of Forest and Park Services where the officials has accompanied Lyonpo to various Nursery Fields and briefed about varieties of plants and fruit trees raised there.

    Lyonpo also visited the Cold Storage and Integrated Agriculture Technology Farm at Wangsisina(IATF). The Dasho Dzongda, Leaders of Local Government and other senior officials from dzongkhag and local government received Hon’ble Lyonpo at Sanam Tshongkhang of Mewang  gewog. ‘‘We sell different varieties of groceries and other stuffs based on the needs of the public and we sell our products at a very reasonable price where even a poor and humble family can afford it,’’ said the officials from Sanam Tshongkhang.
