• Agriculture officials learn about Organic Farming Technologies

    11-13 September, Thimphu: More than 50 participants including the agriculture researchers, extension officers and relevant stakeholders attended a training on Organic Farming Technologies at the Agriculture Research Development Centre (ARDC)-Yusipang. The training was conducted by ARDC-Yusipang and ICIMOD as part of the Resilient Mountain Solutions (RMS) activity.

    During the training, a team from ICIMOD made a brief presentation on the mission, objectives and overall background of ICIMOD and RMS. The members from Sikkim also presented on the transition of organic agriculture in Sikkim highlighting how they had fulfilled the aims of being fully organic. They shared that organic agriculture management and certification in Sikkim was done between 2003-2015 in which a total area of 76169 hectares land was certified.

    The Sealed quotation must be submitted in sealed envelope on or before 25th Feb, 2019 by                11:00 AM and it will be opened on the same day at 11:30 AM (BST) in presence of the interested bidders or their representative in the chamber of Procurement section, MoAF. The preference shall be given to the bidder offering the cheapest and the most direct route with confirmed booking on the specified date of travel.

  • Statistics on import of major food items from India during Jan-Jun 2019

    This statistical release is based on analysis of provisional data on import statistics provided by Department of Revenue and Customs, Ministry of Finance, Royal Government of Bhutan. It presents volume and value of import of major food items from India during the period January to June 2018, and the same for Jan-Jun 2019 is also presented for comparison, to give a sense of trend in import. Import of the same items from countries other than India was found negligible and hence not presented here.
