    Picture2Mr. Wangchuk started his career as General Service Personnel (GSP) in National Piggery Research & Development Center, Gelephu under the Department of Livestock before he was elevated to the position of Telephone Operator.

    He had served 33 years in the centers in various capacities. During the exit interview, “He expressed that he would like to offer his most humble gratitude to His Majesty the King and the Royal Government for the privilege to serve the Tsa- Wa-Sum as a civil servant.

    Picture1Mr. Jigme Wangdi, Specialist III, DoA superannuated from service with effect from 1 April 2017. He first joined as trainee Officer in the then Department of Research and Development Service, Ministry of Agriculture. While in the service, he served in various capacities as Extension Officer, Research Officer, Principal Research Officer and Specialist III which is equivalent to the Position Level of Director. An Exit Interview was carried out to get valuable feedback and suggestions which will be used for improving the existing system.

    The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests takes this opportunity to thank for his commitment and contribution to the Royal Government of Bhutan.   • Bhutan and the World Bank Sign 8 Million US$ Grant to Increase Agricultural Productivity

    Thimphu, May 18, 2017 — The Royal Government of Bhutan and the World Bank today signed a $8 million Global Agriculture Food Security Program (GAFSP) grant that will help increase agricultural productivity and enhance access to markets for farmers in selected gewogs in Southwest Bhutan. The World Bank will be the supervising entity while the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) will provide technical assistance for the project.
