• Bhutan Ecological Society Environmental Fair & Research Symposium on 12 July 2013 at Clock Tower Square, Thimphu

    The Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) ishosting its First Annual Environmental Fair & Research Symposium on 21 July 2013 (9AM – 8PM) at Clock Tower Square, Thimphu. This public benefit program will comprise several concurrent events, including exhibition stalls set up by various governmental and non-governmental organizations, an all-day children’s arts and crafts program, a recycled art contest including 31 invited schools, and an evening open-air film screening of Bhutan’s best environment and wildlife films. On the same day, in the adjacent Druk Hotel, all interested persons are invited for a research poster exhibition anda full day of research presentationsin seven focus areas:

    • Sustainable Livelihoods
    • Waste Management
    • Energy Resources
    • Biodiversity Conservation
    • Water Resources
    • Climate Change
    • Agriculture Science

    Certificate awarded for completing competency course on veterinary drugs course on private veterinary pharmacy

    Lobeysa, 10 July: Thirteen participants from the feed sale agents and farmer’s cooperatives were awarded a certificate for completing a three week long (20 June-10 July) competency course on veterinary medicines at the College of Natural Resources (CNR).

    The awarding ceremony was attended by the Director General of CNR and the officiating Director General of Livestock Department along with the officials from health, Drug Regulatory Authority and livestock.

    Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests is pleased to invite application from the interested candidates for the temporary job for two posts for a duration of six months.

    Terms of Reference:

    1. 1.      Collect weekly price of local and imported vegetables at CFM and local market around Thimphu,
    2. Conduct promotional activities & provide support to the farmers groups and the cooperatives in marketing their products,
    3. 3.      Assist in linking the buyers and sellers,
    4. 4.      Collect the information on quantity arrival of vegetables at CFM,
    5. 5.      Produce weekly report.
    6. 6.      There is no holiday on Saturday and Sunday and off only on Tuesday,
    7. Any other activities assign by superior.
