    18-19 August, Thimphu. Wildlife Conservation Division, Department of Forest and Park Services organized a two day consultation workshop on Snow Leopard Conservation Program at the NRDCL hall, Thimphu. The two days workshop focused on National Snow Leopard Ecosystem & Protection Program planned for seven years, the two years implementation plan & end outcomes, sharing of research findings on Snow Leopard from the Wangchuck Centennial Park and Jigme Dorji National Park.

  • Inviting Feedback on NAP Alignment Report

    The United Nations Convention to Combat Land Degradation (UNCCD) stipulates that the National Action Programs (NAP) to combat land degradation developed by the member countries need to be realigned to the UNCCD 10-Year Strategy (2008-2018). Therefore, the National Soil Services Centre (NSSC) as the Country’s Focal Agency for UNCCD, carried out the task of realigning the Country’s NAP developed in 2010.

    The NAP was developed through extensive consultation with relevant stakeholders at all levels and the same procedure was followed in aligning it to the UNCCD 10 year strategy. With completion of the NAP Alignment exercise, the final draft NAP report is now being shared online for all  stakeholders within and outside the Ministry of Agriculture & Forests for feedback before the report is finalized and submitted to UNCCD.

  • Stakeholders’ Meeting on Essential Veterinary Drug Program and 7th National Veterinary Drug Committee Meeting

    UntitledThe National Centre for Animal Health, Serbithang, under Department of Livestock organized two days “Stakeholders’ Meeting on Essential Veterinary Drug Program” from 11th – 12th August 2014 and a one day “National Veterinary Drug Committee” meeting on 13th August 2014 at Hotel Holiday Home in Paro.

    The meetings were conducted to discuss on issues related to veterinary drugs and streamline the strategies for procurement, distribution and management of veterinary drugs, vaccines and equipment in the country. The meeting also deliberated and agreed on the budgetary ceiling for procurement of medicines and its working modality in order to rationalize the distribution system and prioritize the requirements of drugs in the country. The meeting was attended by 41 participants from 20 Dzongkhag Livestock Sector, Central Farms and Central Agencies under the Department of Livestock.
