This is to inform that during the routine monitoring and inspection of food establishments on July 13, 2017, the BAFRA officials have encountered 354 packets of sausages with expired shelf life date in the B-Coop Shop, Thimphu. The products were processed by the Livestock Products Value Addition Centre, Serbithang, Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests. All the sausages were seized and disposed off in the biological pit at Memilakha, Thimphu on the same day in accordance with the Food Rules and Regulations of Bhutan 2017.

This notification is being issued to inform and reaffirm the general public that BAFRA enforces all food safety measures impartially to all Food Business Operators, irrespective of their operation by Government agencies, Non-Governmental agencies or Private Entrepreneurs without fear or favour.
We also request all Food Business Operators (Governmental and Non-Governmental agencies, and Private individuals) to render your full support and cooperation to BAFRA in implementing the food safety and biosecurity measures in an effort to protect health and life of humans, animals and plants including the environment.
