15 May, Soe: Considering the difficulties faced with the existing mule track, around 3 km mule track from Jomphu till the Tourist Campsite at Jangathang in Soe geog is under construction. Fourteen workers are working on it since a month and it is expected to be completed by June 2014.
According to Soe Gup, Ap Dorji, the existing track was not properly constructed which makes transportation difficult particularly for tourist related activities. He added that with the new track, the only power tiller in the geog which was bought four years back will be put into use making the transportation much easier both for tourists and locals.
The gup also informed that approximately Nu.7 lakhs from the geog development budget has been allocated for the renovation works which also includes the renovation of a few wooden bridges in between these areas.
Soe geog under Paro Dzongkhag is officially a four days walk from Shana, the road point. The geog has twenty-eight households with a population of around three hundred who mainly depend on livestock such as yak and mule for their livelihood.
