500th Community Forestry Management Group ‚Äď celebrating citizen participation in forest governance
The approach to forest management in Bhutan has gone through fundamental changes over the past decades. Today, there is a rapid growth in community-based forest management in the country. Households in a community come together to form community forest management groups. These groups are provided with access and management rights and responsibilities over community forests.
