Thimphu: The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests celebrated the ‘Civil Service Award Day’ on December 11 at the NRDCL conference hall. This year, a total of 325 RNR staff was privileged to receive the awards in Lifetime and Dedicated Service categories.
Forty-four staff received the Lifetime Service Award for superannuating and serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum with clean service records. Out of 281, 57 received the gold medals for 30 years and above, 128 received silver for 20 years and above and 96 received bronze medals for services of 10 years and above.
The Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo, Yeshey Penjor awarded the medals and certificates signed by His Majesty the King. Lyonpo in his address expressed his heartiest congratulations to recipients and commended them for their significant role as civil servants. Also present at the ceremony were the heads from departments and agencies, Chiefs, Program Directors and representative from the field offices.
The Award is a way of acknowledging, thanking and expressing gratitude to our civil servants for serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum for so long and with so much dedication. It was launched in 2013 coinciding with the 106th National Day and is now a regular annual feature.
