Untitled-1September 2, Lhuentse: Lhuentse Dzongkhag Administration and Rabdey received a new Hydraulic Excavator and Back Hoe Loader each from the Central Machinery Unit, Bumthang as a part of the Government’s support towards the construction of rural agriculture road during the 11th FYP and beyond.

The machines are expected to contribute to socio-economic development of Dzongkhag through improved accessibility and other agricultural development activities. They will be used to construct farm roads, agriculture land development, monsoon restoration and other emergency work.

People of Kur-Dho-Zhe were overwhelmed to receive the machines as a blessing for farming community.

The Lhuentse Rabdey conducted its Labsang Thresoel for its sustainability and proper functioning which was attended by all sector heads and other Dzongkhag staff.

Lhuentse ranges from 600 masl to 5,800 masl and has a population of 26,671 people, most of whom are farmers. It is situated on a sloppy rugged terrain and it is prone to any environmental uncertainties. Though it has been delimited by the uncertainties, commercialisation of agricultural products has gained momentum in the region which is further expected to be enhanced with farm road construction machines in place.
