June 25, Thimphu: The Kyrgyz Delegation of ten members led by His Excellency Nurbek Murashev, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo and other senior officials of the Ministry.
Welcoming the delegation, Lyonpo highlighted that both Krygyzstan and Bhutan shares many similarities being a mountainous country particularly in terms of agriculture and snow leopard conservation.
The Kyrgyz Minister shared that the main purpose of the visit is to better understand about Bhutan and its activities. He expressed his appreciation to see how agriculture and forestry is developing in Bhutan.
During the meeting, their Excellencies shared their interest to have collaboration in future.
The delegation is in the country from June 25-30 during which they will visit Takin Reserve Zoo, National Research Centre for Riverine and Lake Fisheries in Haa, RDC-Yusipang, Chimipang, ARDC-Bajo, Serbithang livestock vale addition centre, AMC, FMCL and NPHC among others.
According to a spokesperson, such a high level delegation visit serves as a useful forum to exchange and learn while also fostering the institutional linkages between two countries.
