The Department of Forests and park Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests takes the pleasure of inviting everyone to the Jomolhari Mountain Festival on 8th– 9th October, 2014 at Dangojang (near Jomolhari base camp) under Soe Park Range of Jigme Dorji National Park (JDNP).
The objectives of the festival are to:
Showcase Bhutan’s rich natural heritage
Promote ecotourism opportunities in the Jomolhari region
Showcase local culture and tradition
Encourage yak herding and promoting dairy produces
Create awareness on high land biodiversity conservation and waste management and
Promote wildlife conservation through community support
Basic accommodation can be arranged by the management of JDNP, Soe Yutoe and Yaksa communities. However, meals on the way and at the festival venue will be available on the payment system from the communities. You are requested to bring personal sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and necessary trekking gears. We also recommend you to bring extra warm clothes.
