28-29 March, Thimphu: Around 45 participants from the Ministry are attending a two days training on “Google Suite” at Institute of Management Studies Ltd, Serbithang. The training will basically equip the staff stationed in Thimphu on the usage of Email, Publishing Apps (Docs, Sheet, Slides), Calendar, Cloud storage (drive) and other features available in the Suite.
The Google Apps is a cloud-based suite application to promote a paperless working environment and help reduce both agency’s overall expenses and its environmental impact. The Royal Government of Bhutan approved the implementation of Google Apps to facilitate a secure email system and collaboration across the whole of Government. The Apps had encouraged the innovative changes in processes within the government, demonstrating the benefits of ICT in a small and resource constrained country like Bhutan.
The training is being organised by the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) under the Directorate Services of the Ministry with resource persons from the Department of Information Technology and Telecom.
