Farm mechanisation training highlights in November

mmexport1512108956422Training and awareness programmes for farm mechanisation is one of the three major mandates of the Agriculture Machinery Centre at Paro. In pursuance of employment generation and also drudgery reduction in agricultural practices, a few training activities conducted in the month of November are being shared.

The standard one month long power tiller maintenance and operation trainings were conducted for 5 trainees in Paro and 9 trainees in AMC office, Khangma respectively and certificated issued upon the successful completion of the training today. Also 12 trainees are undergoing the tractor training in AMC office, Samtenling from November 16 onwards which is for a period of two months.

A 10 days technical training” Farm machinery mechanic training” for module 2 and 3 was also conducted starting November 21, at Samteling office. In total there were 19 participants with 15 from FMCL, 3 from AMC and one for ARDC, Jakar respectively. The objective behind this training is to improve the back up and repair services of power tiller.

mmexport1511597771508Simultaneously, the awareness programme had started on 66 improved off grid cardamom dryers which were installed in collaborations with Dzongkhags earlier in this financial year in different cardamom growing dzongkhags. In Pemgatshel, 47 farmers participated for one dryer installed there. In Chukha 48 farmers participated and in Dagana for 3 geogs, 87 farmers participated. The awareness programme for Tsirang and remaining geogs in Dagana, Samtse and Zhemgang are all planned and shall be executed in month of December. It is a collaborative activity with the Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector and the farmers’ enthusiasm is very positive.

The December month shall also be very hectic as farmers’ training and also technical training for TTI students which is for 3 months shall commenced and which are all geared towards support in farm mechanisation programme and employment generation and business startups. Trainees from TTI, Chumey, Kuruthang and Dekiling shall participate.
