Agriculture Machinery Centre organized a farm machinery technology display and field program for technology that were generated within the 11th FYP to the farmers and private sectors who are into farm machinery business at AMC on 31st May, 2018. More than 70 participants gathered for the programme.
The participants were explained about the new mandated of AMC like technology generation and dissemination, farm machinery standards and testing and the training of all stake holders. AMC explained about the new technology and also stressed on the importance of the standards and testing of new machines.
They explained that now farmers should also seek tests results from AMC while buying machines from private and corporations to ensure that the machines are of safe nature and efficient in the field. There were more than 30 technologies on which AMC was working in the 11th plan period. They also informed that they had also fulfilled the requirements of the 11th plan targets. AMC already prepared a documents which shall ensure what interventions are needed base on the survey carried out in all twenty dzongkhags. The issues and difficulties of farmers were captured in the 12th plan document which shall be a guidance while executing the 12th FYP programme to ensure correct interventions and supports.
The participants were also shown the new technologies and field program on the technology in the field was carried out. They were also shown the standard and testing facilities support by JICA Project. AMC informed that they had done tremendous work in the drafting of standards with Bhutan standards Burea and now even implementing the test of machines based on it.
The day was indeed successful and well taken by the farmers, Farm Machinery Corporation Ltd (FMCL) and private sectors.
