AMC Paro, 7 Dec 2016: Students from Technical Training Institutes( TTI) located in Khuruthang, Chumey and Dekiling will attend the 3 months training at AMC from December as part of their on-the-job-training (OJT) programme for 3 months at the Agriculture Machinery Centre (AMC).
The first batch of students from Chumey started the training from December 1, 2016, at Paro. They will be trained in the Paro and Samtenling offices of the AMC. Other students from the other two institutes shall join by mid December.
As part of the new concept, the technical students shall learn how to operate power tiller in the first month followed by repair of power tiller in the second month. In the last month, the students shall learn, designm, operate and fabricate machines and also make a sample machine. The objective behind this training is to provide an option for these technical students to get employed in Farm Machinery Corporation Limited (FMCL) as mechanics,geog power tiller operators or set up their own small farm machinery repair services around the country as entrepreneurs.
The genuinely interested students after graduation from their respective institutes, after 5 months, shall also be provided an opportunity to enroll in an advance repair course in AMC to upgrade their skills in the repair of farm machinery. A representative of AMC said that the present inconveniences in the back up services on farm mechanisation services can greatly be reduced by this initiative.
