Their Excellencies discussed the Ministry’s future priorities in terms of food self-sufficiency, market, job creation and enterprise development among others. During discussion, Lyonpo commended that EU has been the significant development partner for Bhutan in strengthening the agriculture, livestock and forestry sectors including in climate changes areas. He shared that the Ministry would look forward to similar support in the future.
Bhutan and the EU established the formal diplomatic relations in August 1985. EU works closely with Bhutan to reduce poverty and diversify the economy and adapt to climate change among others.
