November 17, Thimphu: Mr. Mart Nutt, Member of the Estonian Parliament and Special Representative of the President called on the Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo, Yeshey Dorji. He was accompanied by Mr. Margus Kogla, Ambassador for UN issues in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and Mrs. Mari Tomingas, Counsellor of the 2nd Division of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
During the meeting, Mr. Mart who is in the country for the first time shared that Bhutan and Estonia being small countries has many parallels in terms of agriculture. He also shared that Estonia has rapidly developed its IT sector, becoming one of the world’s most digitally advanced societies.
Their Excellencies discussed the possible areas of future collaboration in terms of forestry and IT sectors through exchange of technologies and technical experts.
The delegation was in the country from November 15-17 during which they also met with the Hon’ble Lyonchhoen among others.
