April 23-May 6, Phuentsholing: Twenty officials from various offices under the Ministry attended two week long training on Dzongkha official correspondences with Unicode at the Computer and Management Institute (CMI).
The training familiarised the participants on Dzongkha keyboard, covered how to make correspondences in Dzongkha including letter writing, grammar, spelling, officer orders, advertisement, translation among others. They also learnt Dzongkha Microsoft Office which will help them carry out the official correspondences in Dzongkha.
With an objective to promote Dzongkha language, the training was organised by the Information and Communication Services (ICS) in line with the requirement of the Dzongkha Development Policy.
Participants expressed that the training was very useful helping them understand the Dzongkha Unicode as most of them were new to this. Funded by the Dzongkha Development Commission, the training ended with the awarding of certificates to the participants. Similar training was also organised last year in Thimphu.
