Fourteen forest officials who are focal points for fishery activities attended a training to orient the fisheries assessment methods, management and development activities in Bhutan from
24-27 October in Gelephu.
The National Research Centre for Riverine and Lake Fisheries, Department of Livestock (DoL) organised the training with its Senior Fishery Research Officers as resource persons.
The training was split into theory, field work and laboratory sessions and is seen as a big step towards strengthening the inter-departmental capacity. It was funded by the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation.
