DoA’s 8th Program Coordination Committee Meeting held

28-29 August, Thimphu: The Chief’s of the three divisions, Program Directors of the four agriculture research and development centres and six central programs and concerned officers attended the 8th Program Coordination Committee Meeting (PCCM) of the Department of Agriculture. PCCM is one of the highest-level of decision-making forums of the Department.

The objectives of the 8th PCCM was mainly to synchronise the plans, streamline the roles of different agencies, deliberate on the program implementation issues and examine the existing policies and acts. The meeting also reviewed the resolution of the preceding PCCM.

The meeting also covered a presentation on strengthening planning and monitoring of the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for better planning of the future activities. The meeting capitalised the presence of the agency heads and carried out the tripartite APA signing between the Director, Chiefs of the three divisions and respective agencies. Presentations on National Organic Flagship Programme and land development implementation mechanism were also covered on the first day.

On the second day, the meeting discussed commercialisation of mushroom spawn, funding of commodity meetings, funding to link CP with international programs and the deployment of agriculture economist. The evaluation of 2018 APA and Bhutan School and Hospital Feeding Programs were also covered. The meeting further discussed on seed act/seed policy and the 9th PCCM schedule. The administrative and management procedures/issues were also deliberated.
