Untitled-1July 12, Tsirang: A cow belonging to Hari Prasad of Dzamlingthang village in Goserling geog gave birth to three calves at 5:30 am. Among three, two are male and one is female.

The cow was artificially inseminated in October last year with the help of the Geog Extension Officer, Pema Khandu. The owner is a promising farmer who rear cattle mainly for dairy products.

The cow is Jx around 50-60 % and it is in its 3rd lactation period including the present one. The Dzongkhag Livestock Sector believes that it is a great success of artificial insemination and the case could be the first of its kind in Bhutan. All three calves are healthy as of now with the livestock sector providing the necessary technical support.

The owner expresses his concern that milk may not be sufficient for all of them, he will have to arrange an additional milk to feed them for their better health.
