Lecture & Seminar on Coupled Human and Nature Systems on Wednesday, 25 June

Nature Recreation & Ecotourism Division (NRED) under Department of Forests & Park Services is hosting two Australian officials from Macquarie University in Australia. The Council for RNR Research of Bhutan (CoRRB) and Nature Recreation & Ecotourism Division under Department of Forests & Park Services is jointly organising a seminar on “Coupled Human and Nature Systems” on 25 June, 2014 at 2.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m.

This seminar will outline Coupled Human and Nature Systems (CHANS) as a growing interdisciplinary research trend to approaching global issues such as Climate Change. Dr Davies will introduce her theoretical framework, the EcoCycle, a tool to assist understanding of human relationships with nature and human behavior.

The lecture will include a group discussion as Dr Davies is keen to learn about human- nature relationships in Bhutan including lecture participants future or current research interests and projects.

Further, Dr Davies and Mr. Michael Aust, Regional Director, Macquarie International, will also share scope of studying at Macquarie University and various other capacity development opportunities.
