In order to commemorate the 10th year of glorious reign of His Majesty the King, the Livestock Products Value Addition Centre, Serbethang, along-with the Turkey Breeding Farm, Wangchutaba, jointly observed the 9th December 2016, as the Cleaning Day.
The team of eleven staff from these two centres, led by the Officer In-charge, LPVAC and Farm Manager, Turkey Farm, began the cleaning campaign from the entry gate at Wangchutaba. The entry gate, which is also the city bus waiting point, had a huge amount of trash, rampantly thrown around. The four & half kilometre stretch, from the entry gate to the worksite at Serbethang, was cleaned for trashes, consisting of papers, rags, linens, plastic etc in and around the road stretch; for which motto adopted was ‘Clean Journey to the workplace’.
The team members were provided with mouth mask, gloves, head covers and a sack each from the two centres. Total trash collected was around four hundred kilos or a Bolero full, which was safely, disposed at the LPVAC premises.
The campaign ended with a refreshment session, and the thanks giving remarks by the Officer In-charge. The team was also made aware of 9th December as the International Anti-corruption Day. This Day was launched on October 9th 2003 by the General Assembly of the United Nations as a way of raising awareness of corruption and highlighting the role of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in combating and preventing it.
