    This is to apprise all civil servants under Ministry of Agriculture and Forests that the Royal Civil Service Commission vide letter no. RCSC/PPD/WU-3/2015/1282 dated 12th November 2015 has provided the list of civil servants (attached) under this Ministry who has not yet responded to Civil Service Welfare Scheme (CSWS) Membership despite several notifications by the Ministry and the Royal Civil Service Commission.

    In this regard, all non-respondent civil servants under this Ministry are requested to complete the following options latest by 20th December 2015 and submit to HR Division, MoAF for further submission to RCSC:

  • Airfare Quotation

    The Ministry of Agriculture & Forests (MoAF) is pleased to invite sealed quotations from authorised ticketing agent for travel as per the terms and conditions specified below:

    Terms and conditions:

    1. Sealed quotation shall be submitted to the Human Resource Division, MoAF on or before 20 November 2015 at or before 3.00 PM.
    2. Sealed quotation should be addressed to the Chief HR Officer, HRD, MoAF, Thimphu.
    3. The quotation will be opened on the same day at 3.30 PM.
    4. Quotations received after the submission date and time will not be entertained.
    5. Bidders are requested to mention the name of airline and confirmed itineraries in the quotes.
    6. Availability of seat at the time of travel should be established before submitting the quotes.
    7. Unconditional hike in fare or change in airlines at the time of travel will not be accepted.
    8. Quoted rates should be valid for at least a month from the date of submission of bids.
    9. Bidders should submit valid Ticketing License issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
    10. Quotations without sealed envelope will be disqualified.
    11. The decision of the tender committee will be final and binding.

  • Generating Youth Employment and Community-Based Enterprise Development project

    The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, Royal Government of Bhutan’s grant proposal of USD 1.25 million to the Japan Social Developed Fund (JSDF). which is funded by the Government of Japan, has been accepted.  The JSDF pilot project “Generating Youth Employment and Community-based Enterprise Development” is currently being appraised and final approval is pending. The objective of this Project is to generate new and more productive sources of income for poor and vulnerable youth in selected Dzongkhags in six Dzongkhags of south-western Bhutan including, Chukha, Dagana, Haa, Samtse, Trongsa and Wangdue Dzongkhags. The project will achieve this objective by promoting the establishment or upgrading of existing youth-led, managed, and operated business enterprises that aim at generating employment for poor and unprivileged youth.

    In order to implement the project we will need to follow the Environment and Social Management Framework (ESMF) developed for the purpose of this project. The project ESMF and translation of the executive summary in Dzongkha are hereby being disclosed on the website of the Ministry as well as that of the six participating Dzongkhags so that all relevant stakeholders are aware and mindful of considerations for Environmental and Social concerns to be addressed while participating or implementing this project.

  • One Health InterRisk Scholarship

    In line with letter no. DoL/GEN-23/2015-2016/551 dated 29th October 2015 of Department of Livestock, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests is pleased to announce the availability of two Scholarships for Masters in One Health InterRisk Program at Kasetsart University, Thailand for duration of two years.

    All interested candidates fulfilling the requirements for InterRisk Masters Program given online in application link www.onehealthsea.org/interisk may directly apply to Kaserart University. In addition to the requirements of the program, the applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed under Chapter 9 of BCSR 2012 for long-term training.
