Summer School Agriculture Camp

Students from Bumthang, Sarpang and Zhemgang.
A 10 days long (4th to 12th July, 2014) summer school agriculture training camp is under way. 80 students from Bumthang, Sarpang and Zhemgang Dzongkhag are attending the programme .Similar programme will also be conducted during winter. The main objectives of the training is to provide hands on training on integrated farming and creates awareness on agriculture farming and make the summer vacation a useful one.

Artificial Insemination (AI) is adjudged as proven technology and genetic development of cattle can be ensured through adequate promotion of this technology. In this context, to reach the AI further towards the farmers, community based AI Technician (CAIT) training was initiated in 2010 by NDDC, Yusipang on a pilot scale.

Story in Pictures: 1st Certificate Course on Horticulture formally opened

14 April 2014, Zhemgang: The opening ceremony of the First Horticulture Certificate Course at the Rural Development Training Centre (RDTC) in Zhemgang was held in the presence of the Chief Guest- the Hon’ble Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF) along with officials from MoAF & the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources on 14 April 2014. Guests present included Dzongdag, Drangpon, Dzongrab, Regional RNR Sector Heads & Dzongkhag RNR Sector Heads of Zhemgang.
During the ceremony, the Hon’ble Secretary, Dasho Sherub Gyaltshen, awarded prizes to enterprising youth who had taken up farming.
