August 21, Thimphu: The Hon’ble Advisor, Dasho Penjore met with Dasho Secretary and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests yesterday. During the meeting, Dasho Penjore was presented on the overall activities of the Ministry highlighting the 11th and 12th five year plans. Two of the important flagship programs for 12th five year plans including organic and highland programs along with a consolidated presentation on FMCL, GBCL and BLDCL were also presented. The meeting served as a forum for discussions and raise issues to further improve the presented programs.

The Policy and Planning Division (PPD), Ministry of Agriculture and Forests would like to share the Dzongkha version of Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) for comments. The ESMF is developed for the upcoming project Youth Employment and Rural Enterprise Project funded by Japan Social Development Fund through the World Bank.
The project is geared towards enhancing rural livelihood and youth employment through capacity building, mentoring and provision of grants to selected business proposals.

The Sealed quotation must be submitted in hard copy on or before 16/8/2018 by11.00 AM and the same will be opened on the same day at 11.30 AM (BST) in presence of the interested bidders or their representative in the chamber of the Imprest Administrator, MoAF/Procurement section. The preference shall be given to the bidder offering the cheapest and the most direct route with confirmed booking on the specified date of travel.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests is pleased to publicly re-disclose the Environment and Social Management (ESM) Framework for Bhutan for Life (BFL) Project. This will be the basis for specifying the procedures and guidelines for assessing the potential environmental and social impacts of the financed sub-projects.
All the entities of National parks and Biological Corridors are requested to communicate the ESM Framework to the communities and stakeholders under their respective jurisdiction.
