On January 2, an employee with Tarayana Foundation, Namgay presently residing at Tsirangtoe geog had spotted a collared scops owl being chased by a group of dogs. Upon informed by him, the forestry staffs of Tsirangtoe Beat Office rushed to the site and brought the owl to the Beat Office for further treatment and management. According to Namgay, he tried to contribute in a small way to safeguard our rich biodiversity”.
With the help of Livestock Extension Officer of Tsirangtoe, a physical examination was done. No injury was found on the owl. The owl has been feed with meat, cockroach, moths, grasshoppers and other insects. It will be kept under observation for few days. It will be relocated to the natural habitat after it is fully recovered.
