October 20 Thimphu: A four member Thai delegation led by vice president Asst. Prof. Dr. Yong youth Srigiofun from Meajo University, Changmai, Thailand called on Hon’ble Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests to explore the possibility of signing a MoU between the University and the Ministry. The meeting also discussed on exchange programs between the staff of MoAF and the university.
The delegates also discussed on the possibility of providing short term internship for Bhutanese youth at agriculture and livestock farms at the university for those who are interested in taking up agriculture and livestock enterprises.

October 16, Samdrupjongkhar: The Martsala geog is one of the remotest geogs in Samdrupjongkhar, it celebrated its first World Food Day at the Martsala Middle Secondary School. October 19, Thimphu: Two weeks training on Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) started at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE). Twenty six participants from different territorial divisions under the Forestry Department are attending the training.
The training will covered lectures, demonstration, hands-on exercise and field survey. Participants are expected to learn how to collect, integrate and interpret data using GIS software and GPS equipment.
