  • Round Table Meeting on Mahseer

    The third group working on the potential community conservation activities

    December 7, Paro:  The  first International Mahseer Conference held at Paro ended with one day round table workshop to develop a set of recommended actions for Bhutan and for the region. During the meeting, the members were divided into 6 groups and each group listed and prioritised the specific areas of concern and a set of recommended actions.

  • Ambassador of Austria to Bhutan calls on Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo

    December 6, Thimphu: Her Excellency Mrs. Brigittee OPPINGER-WALCHSHOFER, Ambassador of Austria to Bhutan called on to the Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo Yeshey Penjor. Their Excellencies discussed about the organic agriculture. Lyonpo shared that Bhutan was an organic farming by culture and considering the health issues, the government aims at reducing the use of chemical fertilisers by practicing organic farming.

  • Training of Trainers held on Dairy Product Processing at Samtse

    The resource person demonstrating the basic milk related testing

    A two day training of trainers on yogurt production and processing was conducted by the National Dairy Research and Development Centre (NDRDC) at the Yoeseltse Yoghurt Plant on 26 and 27 November. Participants included Dzongkhag livestock officials, geog extension staff and two representatives from the Yoeseltse Jersey Detshen farmers group.
