  • Regional coordination workshop with the Dzongkhags

    picture-rlrpw5 – 7 October, 2016: Regional Livestock Development Centre (RLDC), Zhemgang organised three days annual Regional Livestock Review & Planning Workshop at RLDC conference hall, Zhemgang to discuss, review, plan and synchronize activities with the regional Dzongkhags in line with their Annual Performance Agreement Targets and Indicators for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

    The workshop reviewed the progress and achievements of Dzongkhags, RLDC, commodity research centres for last 3 years, planned collaborative work plan for 2016-17, realigned and synchronized 11th FYP targets and indicators for the region. The forum enabled the incorporation of commodity research program activities (Input production unit) and regional program activities into Dzongkhag plan for effective implementation and to enhance the linkages.

    An electrocuted Himalayan Palm Civet at Kurizam, Mongar

    A Himalayan Palm Civet (Puguma larvata Himlton-Smith, 1827) was found dead after being electrocuted on 27 September 2016 at Kurizam, Mongar in a Chirpine forest (N27°16′21.1″, E091°11′36.3″, 569m) near its human settlement. One of the residents reported the incident through a phone to the Central Park Range Office, Phrumsengla National Park.

    30 September, Paro: Participants from seven countries expressed their appreciation for organising space to share experiences as change agents as well as for the knowledge gained through the lessons and resources during the Regional Training of Trainers programme on Horticultural Chain Management. The interaction among the participants gave an opportunity to share post harvest issues and solutions to minimize post harvest losses.

  • Eastern Dzongkhag Officials attend awareness program on RADP

    participantsSeptember 29, Mongar: Dzongdags, Dzongrabs and Dungpas from the six eastern Dzongkhags led by the Dzongkhag Agriculture Officers attended an introductory and awareness program on the Regional Agriculture Development Program (RADP) Supports under the Commercial Agriculture and Resilient Livelihoods Enhancement Program (CARLEP-IFAD) which began earlier this year.

    The meeting shared the information on the programs and the implementation approaches adopted by the Agriculture Research Development Centre (ARDC), Wengkhar and the Office of Program Management (OPM), CARLEP. It was also an interactive forum to seek views and directives from the Dzongkhag Administrations for strengthening implementation process.
