As we celebrate the Coronation Anniversary of our beloved Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck on 2nd June, let us all pay tribute to His Majesty’s visionary leadership in environmental conservation which transformed our country into a natural paradise. Let us all join hands on this auspicious day, to reiterate our dedication to our beloved Fourth Druk Gyalpo by planting trees.
The healthy forest cover and beautiful natural environment which the people of Bhutan and the world enjoy today, are the result of the profound policies that His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo charted at the time of His Coronation and pursued with resolute commitment and leadership throughout His golden reign. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests is proud to inform that His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s wish of the Bhutanese people managing our forest resources and environment is getting fulfilled as we have established almost 700 community forests under the Social Forestry programme besides successfully protecting our watersheds, biodiversity reserves and national parks.
