Every fourth day of the sixth month in the Bhutanese calendar is observed as the First Sermon of Lord Buddha, formally known as Drukpa Tshe Zhi. This is a National Holiday in Bhutan to observe this holy occasion.
14 July 2017, Thimphu: The Krgyz Delegation Members led by Her Excellency Ms. Samargul Adamkulova, Ambassador of Kyrgyz to the Republic of India; Mr. Keshav Verma, Senior Advisor to the Global Snow Leopard Ecosystem Protection program (GSLEP); and Dr. Koustubh Sharma, International Coordinator, (GSLEP) Program are on an official three day visit to Bhutan.
3 July 2017 is a Public Holiday in Bhutan to observe the Birth Anniversary of Guru Rinpoche. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the sixth lunar month, which typically falls in June or July in the Gregorian calendar and this year on 3 July. Guru Rinpoche, also known as Guru Padmasambhava, brought Buddhism to Bhutan.
