  • Shortlisted candidates for the post of Animal Attendant

    As per the announcement made in MoAF website dated 13th. & 31st. July 2017 and Kuensel dated 15th July2017, the National Poultry Research & Development Centre, Sarpang is pleased to announce the shortlisted candidates for the post of ESP.

    The shortlisted candidates are informed to report for the selection interview on 22nd. August 2017 at 10 am sharp in NPRDC, conference hall.

  • Cattle breeding to be cheaper for Tephu farmers

    Untitled-1Pemagatshel: A much awaited dream of having a pure jersey bull of Tephu community under Nanong geog was fulfilled on July 15 when the government delivered them a ‘Norbu’ as villagers called it. It was a great moment for Tephu farmers as they received a bull with a khadar (religious scarf) ceremony.

    In the past, it was a nightmare for farmers to breed their cattle during heat. During the odd hours, they had to avoid the required bull services mainly due to labour shortages and long distance they had to travel. Further, their life was in stake as they had to travel through terrain and things used to get worst as the cow in heat is likely to mount the owner risking them to fall from the cliff.

  • Sustainable Rangeland Management workshop to protect Red Pandas and Herders’ Livelihoods

    Untitled-1August 4–5, Trashigang: More than 30 participants representing the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary, Regional Livestock Development Centre (RLDC) Kanglung, Dzongkhag Livestock Sector, geog administration Merak and beneficiary communities from Cheabling and Shetimey under Merak geog attended the annual review and planning workshop for Sustainable Rangeland Management to protect Red Pandas and Herders’ Livelihoods.

    It was held to review the past one year progress, address issues and align plans with the geog priorities. RLDC-Kanglung organised it with fund support from the Darwin Initiative Project.
