  • Training on Paddy Straw Feed Block Production and Rangeland Management

    Untitled17 November, Bumthang: A four days training on Paddy Straw Feed Block Production and Rangeland Management is underway at Narut and Tevethang under Tang Geog in Bumthang Dzongkhag. The main objectives of conducting such training are to create awareness on feed block technology for winter feeding of yaks and impart basic practical skill on rangeland management. The training is attended by 15 households from Narut and Zhebrat communities.

    During the training period, participants are expected to learn feed block technology including crop residue enrichment. They are also going to learn on sustainable rangeland management practice as a part of preparation for upcoming community yak farm. The training is being organized by the National Center for Animal Nutrition, Bumthang and funded by Bhutan Trust for Environment Conservation under the project title “Securing Rangeland Soil Carbon through Community Yak Herding under Thrumshingla National Park.”
