    14 June, 2016: The Regional Livestock Development Centre, Zhemgang organised a five day refresher training on Animal Health management and Welfare services from 5 to 10 June at RNR-RDC, Bumthang with the theme ‘‘Approach to Delivery of Excellent Veterinary Services.’’

  • Training on Scientific Pig Production and Management

    DSC00524The Regional Livestock Development Centre, Zhemgang organised six days Hands on Training on Scientific Pig Production & Management Training, from 1 June to 6 June,2016 at NPiDC, Gelephu to the semi-commercial and commercial pig farmers of the east and central region. The training was deemed urgent as these entrepreneurs lacked practical knowledge of both the behaviour of the pig and its nutritional, climatic, housing, health, social and sexual requirements together with a range of husbandry and management skills. These are highly skilful tasks and the youths who have taken up pig farming are required to be highly competent in many of these tasks.

    With technical and logistical support from NPiDC, Gelephu, the training focused on practical aspects of pig farm management where the participants rigorously worked in the farm. Certificates were also awarded to them at the end of the program.
