  • Quotation for Airfare

    Department of Livestock would like to request the ticketing agents to submit your Airfare quotation rates for the shortest route as per the terms and conditions listed below:

     

    Terms and Conditions:

     

    1. Your quotation is to be submitted in a sealed envelope (official seal) which should be marked “Quotation for Airfare” with appropriate name of the signatory bearing office seal on company letter head.
    2. The quotation should be submitted on or before 23rd October, 2014 at 10 AM and will be opened on same date at 10.30 AM.
    3. Your quotation should be addressed to Director, Department of Livestock.
    4. The bids will be evaluated on the types of aircrafts quoted, timing of flight, route of the travel and on top of the rates quoted.
    5. The ticket issuance time should be one week from the opening of quotation.

    30 September, 2014, Sarpang: As part of its initiatives towards conservation of pristine aquatic bio-diversity the National Centre for Aquaculture (NCA), Bhutan’s nucleus centre for development of Aquaculture in Bhutan, under the guidance of the Department of Livestock (DoL) has released 3527 numbers of Golden Mahaseer fingerlings few miles upstream of Rongchhu River at Tsachu under Sarpang Dzongkhag. This is the 2nd batch of Golden Mahaseer fingerlings.

  • Researchers discover a new fish species endemic to Bhutan

    Parachiloglanis bhutanensis – most recent add to the fish diversity in Bhutan

    During a recent collaborative research project of documenting fish diversity in the country, researchers from the College of Natural Resources (CNR), Bhutan and Saint Louis University, USA, discovered a new species of torrent catfish from Khalingchhu in the eastern part of Bhutan. It is the first endemic fish species to Bhutan, found nowhere else in the world. The fish was named Parachiloglanis bhutanensis in honor of the country in which it is endemic to.
